Character Interview!

This is the first of what I hope will be many cross promotions with other authors and aspiring authors, today we welcome Leigh Johnson and her character Kaitlin Carter. Please give her a warm welcome!

1) Kaitlin, tell us about your family, both living and non-living.

I couldn't ask for a better family. My grandfather has been amazing since my parents leighdied. He stepped up and raised us as I imagine he did my father. I doubt I would ever meet a better man. My parents died before I was old enough to really remember them. My twin and I were only 5. I know what they look like from the photos Granddad made sure were hung around the house as we were growing up but I don't remember the sound of their voices or ever spending time with them. Then there are my siblings. My twin, Carly, is my best friend. Despite my differences she has always stood by my side. She is the only one who has never shown fear of what I am. Now she's a mother and even though there should be some dear there... There just isn't. She only sees the good in me. Refuses to see the darkness. Our 4 eldest siblings are all business owners. My eldest brother, Nate, owns a very successful nightclub with his best friend and has a beautiful wife. Danielle and Sophie joined up and bought an empty shop that they turned into a book and coffee shop. They're doing really well and the kids love the reading sessions I do there. And Damien is a whiz on computers. I'm told that Dad was the same. He runs his own computer repair business. Even builds the Damn things. Psychic abilities run in our family and everyone has a gift. No one missed out. I won't go into our extended family. Just know that it involves 3 werewolves, 2 police officers and am extremely powerful psychic.

2) Tell us a bit about what it’s like to be a hybrid, you don’t find a lot of those around now a days. What reaction do people first give you when you tell them you are both vampire and lycan?

I hate being a hybrid. Hate being so different from the rest of my family. They are in danger with me around. I have very good control but if I were ever lose control of the beasts... No one alive outside of the family knows what I am. I didn't go to school. Because my vampire side is stronger I have no tolerance to sunlight. I work from home. My boss knows what I am. She is the psychic I mentioned before. Other psychics and non-humans sense that I am different but because of the abilities that run in our family they never know what.

3) Is there anyone special that you have your eye on?

There isn't anyone special in my life right now. I'm still looking for Mrs Right. Hopefully she turns up soon.

4) Are you a coffee or tea person?

I drink both but I prefer herbal teas.

5) What do you do in your spare time, do you have spare time?

As I mentioned before, I read twice a week to the kids who visit my sisters' bookstore. I work occasional shifts at my brother's club. I sing there most weekends too. And I love to play the guitar.

6) Can you tell us a bit about what you believe your destiny is?

I know that there must be a reason that I was born different but what it is... I just have no idea.

7) If you had to choose one word to describe yourself, what would that be?

One word to describe myself? That's a hard one. I guess it would have to be thoughtful. Not just towards other people but in general.

8) What do you think about your author?

Leigh... She's great. She's very patient and, like me, thoughtful but sometimes she thinks too much. She suffers from low confidence. I know she is trying to work on that but it really isn't easy for her. She has an alter ego called Jordan who is the side Leigh keeps hidden. Jordan is fighting for more freedom but Leigh is keeping a tight reign on her. Negatives aside Leigh is great. She's got a great personality and a warped sense of humour. She's loyal to a fault and gives people too many chances. Things haven't been easy for her but she's battled through and has come out the other side.

9) Does your author do your story justice?

Leigh is trying her best with my story and I know I haven't made things easy for her. I've loved what she's written so far. It just hasn't seemed right. But I know (even if she doesn't) that she will definitely do my story justice.

10) What is the biggest curve ball you’ve thrown into your author’s plans?

The biggest curve ball? *Grins* That's easy. I take Leigh out of her comfort zone. She always writer in third person but I've dragged her into the first. She hates me for it but I love to wind her up. It's so easy to do at times!
